Without You

*For mother…

sadness sleeps
on lips, silent

eyes heavy,
stung by yesteryear’s
salty reminders
of burying, beneath
cold clay,
the hopes, dreams, joys –
the center of the world,
our world,
my world –

the bony remains
parted from
a sainted soul

long since passed from this world
but never forgotten

    1. Both my parents have passed now and it’s been tough because they both had such a large presence in my life and the lives of my siblings, nephews and nieces. I do, however, have thousands of pictures, videos and memories. Thanks, Beckie 🙂
